The Outside Program was created as a way to allow participants who are released from CRCI to continue with their residency when they re-enter the community after being incarcerated. The program takes place at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA) in Northeast Portland. Meeting are held monthly and included readings, discussions, and feedback. In addition the group will attend and engage with PICA’s year round programming in performance and visual art, attending lectures, performances, gallery talks, and other activities.
Columbia River Creative Initiatives is currently on hiatus and may resume in the future, this website serves as an archive of the project.
